Interview Round 2:
Assignment Round (48 hrs)
Assignment Details:
You are an App PM for a food ordering service (ex: Zomato, Swiggy) which has both a website and a native app. You have thousands of restaurants on your platform in all key markets.
With the recent lockdown and economic crisis, customer needs and behaviors are evolving when it comes to ordering food from restaurants. While consumers are more likely to order takeout than dine at a restaurant, they are also more cost-conscious and more aware of health and safety than they may have been in the past.
You are one of a few big players in the space and you have meaningful overlap between which restaurants are available on each platform, so you need to find other ways to build a competitive advantage.
Your mission is to come up with 3-5 product features, capabilities, or experiments to encourage today’s consumers to order their takeout with your app versus one of your competitors.
Be prepared to consider the following questions:
● What type of data would you need to inform and validate your suggestions?
● How would you measure the success of the features you suggest?
● How would you prioritize which suggestion you would implement first?
● What sort of app-specific capabilities could you utilize to create a solution that would be stronger on the app than on your website?
● For the bigger ideas, what does an MVP or proof of concept look like to test this out before fully investing?
